flipping your fins top: c/o Sugarlips Apparel
denim shorts: H&M
black leggings: Topshop
cross earrings: Topshop
cream oversized cardi: Dorothy Perkins
black & tan heeled sandals: Next

Unfortunately the weather's turned like we all knew it would. In my head, I'm wearing this lovely floaty top (thank you Sugarlips!) over a simple black bikini on a sun-soaked beach somewhere... I'll make it happen.

Anyway. Despite it being sheer, I think it works with my navy bandeau bra. You wouldn't want anything to detract from the lovely strap detail - the ruched bit at the joining is cute, no? And I've been living in my leggings and cream cardi lately. The latter is just so slouchy and comfortable and has been the perfect cover-up for this balmy weather we've been having. I'm sad at the prospect of getting my coat back on.

TGIF though, that's for sure. Has anyone got any exciting plans? I'm banking on dancing the night away on Saturday and really cannot wait.

It's not often that I find a beauty product I'm mad about. I've only worn the new No7 mascara for a few days and I'm already smitten - to the point of not being able to imagine buying another mascara, ever. Like, ever.

Boots released Extravagant Lashes a while back which, honestly, is crapola. I didn't have high hopes at all for this new one but - mostly due to the free smoky eyeliner gift they're selling it with - I bought it and am so glad I did. It really does add great volume and length but without being too clumpy - I might even feel comfortable going fake eyelashes-less on a night out which is saying something. It's just perfect.

You seriously won't be sorry if you purchase this miracle worker. At the moment make-up is on a big 3 for 2 at Boots, plus you get the free gift... can't be bad, can it?

Erm, get it.
It's amazing.

P.S. Did I mention this mascara is amazing?

spring in my step

  white tiger tee: Primark
denim shorts: H&M
fish earrings: Trang, Thailand
black tights: Boots
tan and black heeled sandals: Next

What a truly lovely day! And what, this is the fourth day in a row that's been sunny? I am so bloody happy that spring is finally here.

Bit of a simple outfit today but I love my new Primark purchase - they also have tees with leopards, wolves and a bloody scary looking wild cat. Eek. As for my day, unfortunately I'll be stuck indoors because I have an intimidating to-do list. On the plus side - aside from errands and nick nacks - it involves writing, so life's not all bad.

I hope you all get to enjoy the sunshine just a little bit.

Loreal Caresse Lipstick in 07 (Cheeky Magenta) and 01 (Fashionista Pink)
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Fresco
No7 Extravagant Volume Mascara in Black and No7 Smoky Eyeliner

You can't even say I've been naughty in buying these beauty bits OK?! I've worked the system.

The Double Wear foundation is something I've wanted for a long time so I decided to use up my Boots Advantage Card points on it. I like it. I don't know if it's as incredible as I thought it would be or as everyone seems to say but I'm going to keep working with it.

As for the lipsticks, the two colours looked so vibrant but they look quite pathetic on. I'm actually going to take one back (01) because it's actually rubbish but the other is a lovely pink tint so I'll definitely keep it, even if it's not as "WOW" as I thought it'd be.

This newly-launched No7 mascara just had to be tried and the smoky eyeliner comes free with it at the moment (#winning). Oh, and all make-up's on 3for2 at the moment too so I actually got one of the lipsticks for free as well (#bi-winning).

Has anyone treated themselves lately, beauty-wise?
There are lots of exciting launches coming out in the beauty world and I'm a wee bit excited.

orange and white striped blouse: Topshop
black bodycon skirt: H&M
denim jacket: H&M
cross earrings: Topshop
stone ring: Boots
black tights: Boots
heeled desert boots: Marks & Spencer

it's my day off but I wake at an indecent hour and get myself ready: today I'm off to meet the editorial team over at Mr Shoes (who I've been writing for) / after a two hour journey into Norfolk, I get to meet everyone at the office and have an informal chat which is great - they're all such lovely people / after this, I get to researching in the confines of the office (instead of my bedroom, very odd) and get any information I need from there before heading home where I then decided to pop into Boots and hand in my notice* (oh my gawwwd) / then it's home for a much-needed peanut butter sandwich (I sort of forgot to eat all day...) and some blogging, researching, sorting out etc / at 7:30 I'm due at a local Chinese buffet to celebrate a Boots' colleague's birthday and I can't wait to stuff myself silly / then it's either the pub or maybe some blog writing... who knows? The world is my oyster.

* I am now officially a Fashion Blogger for Mr Shoes and Ministry of Fashion and, thankfully, don't have to work for Boots anymore. I am one happy chappy, and encourage you to go take a look-see!

all Matalan

After seeing the top-left butterfly blouse in last week's More, I just had to take a look at what else Matalan had to offer. Along with the featured blouse, I also love the top-right scarf print number. If only I could actually pull off (or even achieve in the first place) a top-knot; I think that would look just dandy.

five days bloody well spent

Sunday, 11 March 2012

The best of British wildlife (squirrels, bunnies, peacocks, pheasants, ducks, doe a deer a female deer), the best food (Bella Italia came out top trumps but some fab breakfasts were had too), the best onesies, the best spa treatment, the best bike rides, the best location for our home away from home (villa number 253), the best swimming sessions...

...and all with the best company possible.

faux leather shorts: Jane Norman at Debenhams
grey cropped jumper: Topshop
cross necklace: Miss Selfridge
stone ring: Boots
black tights: Boots
black flatforms: Mr Shoes

nails: Barry M 47 Black & Bourjois  18

This is what I wore yesterday to #ldnlunch, where I met some super nice people who I'll hopefully see again soon. It was just a wonderful excuse to eat (mmm, quesadilla), drink (helloooo wine) and chat for Britain with fellow bloggers. I can't wait to go to another meet-up. It had been too long since I'd visisted London, if anything! Note to self: go more often.

As for my upcoming week, I'm going to Center Parcs with my boyfriend and am a wee bit excited. Today will consist of packing and a visit to Tesco to stock up on food and drink for the villa - yay! Sometimes the build-up is half the fun, right? I'll be sure to share some snaps upon my return - namely pictures of squirrels, me on the rapids, food, squirrels, us on our bikes, on a kayak, squirrels... and then some more squirrels.

And just FYI, I'm in a very chipper mood since Friday. It looks like things are finally starting to work out for me.
