topshop brights

Wednesday, 6 April 2011

Some people are loving it, some are hating it. I was not overly keen on the colour popping trend for this spring/summer but once again, Topshop know how to make it look good. Their 'hitlist' has me wanting everything and I feel like I'd have no problem mixing and matching to my heart's content.

I've instantly decided that I want to buy a mint-coloured top (not this Topshop one - £28.50, little steep?) and team it with corally-orange accessories. The gingham hairband is super cute, and that nail colour ('Scorch', exactly how I anticipate this summer) would finish off the look nicely.

Also, if you were particularly taken by the banana trend for this year then you're in luck. I was all for it but don't know if I could pull off these leggings (£20). I'm sure someone out there could though...

What's your take on this bright and bold 'trend'?

  1. I'm not overly keen on super bright colours either, I think I'll be going with cobalt blue and possibly orange/coral if I need to. I think that mint top (or a variant of it) would look adorable teamed with a black high-waist skirt and the accessories you mentioned :)

Lovely Blog following you now chick :)

  2. I have to be honest and say I wasn't too keen on first but like you said the way stores advertise the clothes it makes me want them! I own a pair of pink shorts and love them, I really want to pair them with a pale mint blouse or top!

Saw that top today and I reckon its worth the price, the feel is lovely!

  5. Colour for colour... I am not a fan. But the good thing is that with that new trend, we have so many colours in shop that we can really find wonderful ones. I always want to do shopping... oh and oop's, I did it once more today!!!

  6. I think it can be great! I just think it has to be done in moderation and through the right things. For example, I looove that mint coloured top but I doubt I'd be able to pull off the bananas!

  7. I really like it! Normally, I don't think I wear a ton of colors so I think it will be fun to try something new. And I love the mint-green top in that material!
