film recommendation #3

Monday, 14 February 2011

I know there's been a bit of hype surrounding this film and my other recommendations so far have been less well-known, but I couldn't resist posting about this beautiful film. Afterwards, you kind of sit back and realise that for a lot of Never Let Me Go your mouth was open in shock/awe/pain. You know that weird, uncomfortable - although not altogether unpleasant - feeling you get after certain films? Maybe a sense of unease? I guess I had that, if you even know what I'm talking about. I don't really know what else to say apart from 'watch it' - it's a film that you should definitely immerse yourself in before finding too much out about it.

It confirms my absolute love for Keira, Carey and the relatively-new Andrew who I can't wait to watch in The Social Network now. Enjoy...

  7. I bawled so hard at the end of this movie. I watched it late one night by myself on the couch and at the end I just sat there crying. It was so beautifully done.

  9. I'm not sure about this film...
I've read the book and its one of my favourites, so when I saw they were making the film I was really excited, but..
I have only seen a few trailers, and from them it makes it seem like a tragic love story of some sort, which it really isn't, or at least isn't in the book. I mean sure Kathy loves/loved Tommy, and Ruth, and they have a brilliant friendship etc, but its really more about science, and how far society will go for somethings forsaking ethics...
I hope this comes across in the film?!
I definately recommend to anyone to read the book if you havn't already. It's brilliantly written.
I do love Kiera & Carey though, I'm sure they'll be good in the roles!
