my summer of love

I watched My Summer of Love (2004) the other night for the first time. It was just one of those random films I stumbled across and decided to watch. It stars Emily Blunt (of The Devil Wears Prada fame) and Natalie Press who I didn't really know much about.

Key themes of obsession, rebellion, deception, religion and passion fight each other throughout this film, leaving you a little unsure as to the plot. However, you do find yourself enjoying the story, strangely enough. It's a film by the BBC which, biasedly, makes it a must-see for me and its odd depiction of superficial love is a reason to keep watching.

This film is for you if you'll give anything a go, and have enjoyed other BBC films. I wouldn't call it a hit but the members of imdb have given it a 6.9 which is pretty good on their standards!

I actually really like Emily Blunt but have barely seen any of her films. I'll have to watch more - the next on my list being Sunshine Cleaning, a film about a mother who starts a crime scene clean-up service to help pay for her son's tuition fees... sounds like a winner!

  1. That movie seems pretty interesting. And I am always willing to try a new film out! I'll have to rent it or look it up online. :)

  2. I'm big Emily Blunt fan. You'll love her in Sunshine Cleaning so watch it soon.

  3. I've heard of that film, and she was in The Young Victoria wasn't she? I generally love BBC films so sounds good :) x

  4. Following princess, follow me back?

Thank you so much for reading :)
